Although they might seem like they are unimportant, rabbit toys are vital in keeping rabbits healthy. They are an essential part of owning rabbits and they simply cannot be looked over.

Rabbit Toys

Chew Toys

Rabbits teeth are open rooted. This means that their teeth never stop growing. If your rabbit's teeth aren't kept trim and healthy, it can lead to a myriad of serious health issues. Hay does part of the job by helping with those pesky back inscissors, and this cannot be replaced. However, rabbits front teeth also need to be kept trim, and chew toys do the job. Chew toys can be anything from a simple cardboard toilet paper or paper towel tube, or something a little more fancy like hay and grass mats. There are many options when it comes to chews. Rabbits tend to be different from one another because they all seem to like different materials. Your local pet stores will have pleanty of rabbit safe chew toys. Just make sure you steer clear of anything that is a "mineral or salt" chew as these can cause bladder stones. Also be aware when making homemade chews to stay away from dyes if they aren't soy based.

Toss Toys

It may seem a little strange, but rabbits love to toss around there toys and make a mess with all their play objects. Baby keys, baby links, paper chains, plastic cat jingle balls, and wooden barbells are all great toss toys that your rabbit will love.

Digging and ShreddingToys

In the wild, rabbits live in burrows. They are constanly digging and tunneling underground. Rabbits instincts are basically based around digging and shredding. They absolutely love it. You can find plenty of rabbit safe seagrass mats and shredding boxes for sale and you can also make your own. Cardboard boxes filled with hay and newspaper make awesome shredding and digging toys your rabbits will love (and rip) to bits.
